illbruck Reduces Installation Time with High Performing Sealants at Domestic Property

The Project
The refurbishment of this domestic property required the replacement of both the windows and front door to the property. UVPC is a popular choice amongst homeowners, boasting added security, durability, low maintenance, weather resistance, as well as eco-friendly benefits. The owners of the property selected T&K Home Improvements to carry out the refurbishment, who in turn looked towards illbruck to supply the necessary products to complete the window system to a high standard.

Selected for the project were two of illbruck’s market-leading sealants. FM330 Pro Foam Air Seal, which has been tested to EN 12114, was used as an airtight gap filler about the perimeter joint seals. This rapid, moisture-curing expanding polyurethane foam is gun applied for optimum performance and has excellent elasticity as well as airtightness and acoustic advantages. Offering superb adhesion to a variety of materials, these include brick, stone, and plaster, in addition to numerous cementitious and plastic substances. One of the main reasons this product was chosen was due to its elastic performance, offering up to 50% movement capability, which subsequently ensures integrity of the seal.
The perfect accompaniment to the installation of FM330 was illbruck FS125 Frame & Façade Silicone. This neutral curing, low modulus, low-odour silicone sealant is suitable for perimeter joint sealing applications with high movement capability. Promising excellent primerless adhesion to several surface types, including UPVC, FS125 has long-term resistance to weathering, ageing, and provides extra UV protection. This product comes in a modern range of colours, providing a low sheen finish and is easy to tool into place and smooth off.
The Result
The refurbishment was quickly turned around in just three days, resulting in minimal disruption for the owners of the property. The performance advantages of both FM330 and FS125, namely their ease of use, movement capability, and quality, worked harmoniously to create an attractive, contemporary finish.
