FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane +, also referred to as ME007, is illbruck’s latest fire-rated (FR) solution for sealing windows and doors. Important for those specifying projects to understand is that ME007 FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane + is strong, robust and comes in a range of widths ranging from 100mm right up to 1000mm, all in 50mm increments. ME007 FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane + is a Class B, permanently UV resistant, high strength polyester, airtight and fully watertight membrane used to seal windows and doors externally on framed buildings. What is more the membrane is particularly suited for use on ‘relevant and higher risk’ buildings, meeting the fire safety requirements set out in Approved Document B of the Building Regulations for England and Wales.

Breathable, Vapour Permeable
In line with illbruck’s philosophy and best practice, the inside of the building should always be tighter than the outside. Window and door sealing membranes must therefore allow moisture to escape rather than become trapped within these critical junctions. Trapped moisture can cause long term damage to surrounding substrates and harbour mould growth. ME007 FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane + is designed to prevent this by allowing any moisture that reaches the interface to safely diffuse through the membrane to the colder side of the façade.
BBA Certified ME007 FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane +
illbruck can now announce BBA certification for ME007 FR Window & Door Sealing Membrane + window and ceiling membrane. Passing BBA standards set is a sign to customers and the wider marketplace that illbruck products comply with third party assurance, meeting the specifications that illbruck outline as a business. Fire performance, the water tightness and air tightness, are all key vital parts and a small selection of what the BBA test and go through to make sure that the products are fit for use on site. BBA certification covers not only the membrane but also the adhesive and the primer too. The BBA certification applies not only to the membrane itself, but also to the accompanying adhesive, SP025 FR Membrane Adhesive. When used together as a system, they achieve a fire classification of Class B-s2, d0 – a level of performance unmatched in the marketplace. This provides assurance for specifiers and contractors working on relevant and higher-risk buildings.
