Illbruck recently launched the new Class B Fire Rated Window and Door Sealing Membrane + (ME020). The membrane joins the ME007 making up the new illbruck ‘+’ range. This range represents illbruck’s commitment to offering innovative, high performance solutions that provide installers with a range of benefits including ease and speed of application.
Fast, Easy Installation
One of the standout features of the ME020 is the self-adhesive backing it has, which reduces installation time by up to 50%, compared to other membranes. As a result, less time can be spent by installers on preparation and more time can be spent on completing the job more efficiently. There is no need for additional adhesives due to the ME020’s self-adhesive design, thus reducing the number of materials and waste on site.
Amount of Applications
With a quicker application time, more windows and doors can be sealed and made watertight on site in one day. This increased efficiency helps to accelerate project timelines and reduce labour costs.
Range of Sizes
Projects can present unique challenges that may require materials that can adapt to an array of specifications. There are multiple sizes of the ME020 available, being supplied in 25 meter rolls from 100mm to 350mm wide, meaning that there’s plenty of options for installers when choosing the right material. The split release liner provided in rolls over 150mm adds for extra ease when handling the product during installation.
Interface Sealing Membrane
When using the membrane as a Interface Sealing Membrane, it is important to consider the substates that membrane is being bonded on too. For example, if it was to be bonded to sheathing board, then no primer would be needed whereas if it was to be concrete, then this would depend on the porosity and the surface of the concrete, which is where a primer may need to be considered.
